9:00am: Gather at the hotel lobby for pickup
The driver will meet you at the hotel lobby on 9:00am and take a vehicle to the scenic area.

10:00am Arrival at Jinuo Mountain Rainforest Hiking Camp in Jinghong, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture

Arrive at the camp and prepare to start the days’s adventure.

10:10 am Free activity: Preparation excises

Head towards Jinuo Mountain for a briefing on hiking skills and rainforest safety tips. Warm-up exercises are included. (Approx. 10 minutes.)

10:20 am Hiking in the tropical rainforest

Total distance: 4 kilometers;
 Elevation gain: 300 meters,
Maximum altitude: 300 meters.
Proceed to the rainforest entrance where the guide will explain the scientific names of the plants. Follow the local indigenous guide deep into the rainforest to learn about rare flora and fauna. Along the way, marvel at massive buttress roots, towering trees, unique medicinal herbs, and various wonders of the tropical rainforest. Experience a 2-kilometer stream tracing challenge where plant identification and water collection activities will take place. Engage in wild emergency rescue skill explanations and practical experiences during the uphill hike. (Approx. 2 hours 10 minutes)

12:30 pm Lunch: Local specialty meal

Enjoy a moment of rest with a pure ecological Jinuo rainforest feast prepared by the Jinuo villagers, featuring both meat and vegetables for a unique dining experience. Leaves are used as tablecloths and bamboo as containers—healthy and delicious! (Approx. 1 hour)

13:30 pm Stone face painting

During the hiking, the guide will find suitable natural pigment stones to create three colors for face painting, providing a primal wild look and serving as a natural mosquito repellent. You can’t visit the rainforest without painting your face! (Approx. 10 minutes.)

13:40 pm Tree dewcent experience

Under the guidance and protection of a professional tree descent leader, begin the tree descent activity. Safely climb a giant banyan tree and descend in a professional manner, testing your strength and courage while experiencing the traditional method the Jinuo people use to climb trees and forage. (Approx. 30 minutes.)

14:10 pm Rainforest swing 

Follow the guide’s instructions to enjoy swinging in the rainforest, using safety ropes and harnesses for protection. Experience the joy and thrill of swinging in nature—sometimes happiness is that simple! (Approx. 30 minutes.)

14:40 pm Bamboo raft padding 

Navigating through waterways in the rainforest, experience the bamboo rafting project, which reflects how the Jinuo people used their ingenuity historically to create bamboo rafts for water navigation. Under the guide's assistance, enjoy the fun of paddling the bamboo raft. (Approx. 30 minutes.)

15:10 pm Tasting sour ants

The guide will find local delicacies—sour ants—for you to try. In the rainforest, sour ants are also an important source of protein. (Approx. 10 minutes.)

15:20 pm Archery experience

Under the guidance and protection of the guide, begin your archery experience, which is an ancient hunting method of the Jinuo people. (Approx 20 minutes.)

15:40 pm Foraging for wild vegetables and catching fish & cracbs

A crucial survival skill in the rainforest is utilizing natural resources. Led by the guide, search for seasonal safe wild vegetables, fruits, fish, and crabs—these are essential components of the trekking experience, although wild vegetables, fruits, and seafood may not always be easy to find. (Approx. 30 minutes.)

16:10 pm Prepare for the return

Finish hiking through the rainforest and reach the exit (which is close to the entrance). Take a moment to rest and get ready for the return journey. (Approx. 1 hour.)

17:10 pm End of the journey and dispersal

Free dispersal in Baduo Village, Jinghong, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, closing your journey on a fulfilling note.

Equipment Recommendations and Other Notes

  • Clothing:Wear long sleeves/pants; if you are concerned about mosquito bites, you may bring mosquito repellent. Skirts are prohibited. As there will be stream tracing, the water is shallow (below calf height), so consider bringing an extra pair of pants to change after trekking.
  • Footwear: Because the trek includes stream tracing (in shallow water), your shoes will get wet. If you have suitable trekking shoes (like athletic or casual shoes), wear them and bring an extra pair for after trekking. If you don’t have appropriate shoes, they can be purchased at the trekking spot (liberation shoes/military boots or rain boots available for around 30 yuan per pair). Avoid slippers, sandals, or high heels that are not suitable for outdoor trekking.
  • The team leader will carry a first aid kit, personal medications must be provided by participants.
  • Participation is prohibited for: Those with recent health issues, or who have undergone major surgery in recent years, heart conditions, or pregnant women.
  • Weather-related cancellations: In cases of heavy rain or wind, to ensure customer safety, activities such as tree descent, rainforest swing, bamboo rafting, and archery may be canceled. Customer safety is the priority! It is imperative to follow the guide and team leader’s instructions and not act independently during activities.
  • In the rainforest, with so many plants and small fishes and shrimps, please refrain from picking or consuming anything without the guide’s supervision and permission. Thank you for your understanding.

  • For groups of 2-4 people, there will be an English-speaking tour guide as driver.
  • For groups of 5-10 people, there will be an  English-speaking tour guide and a Chinese driver.
