Day 1 Arrival Lhasa

Welcome to Tibet! Upon your arrival, our friendly guide and driver will warmly welcome you at the airport, presenting you with a traditional Tibetan white scarf called "Khata." With just a one-hour drive on the expressway (70 kilometers), the driver will take you to comfortable hotel in downtown Lhasa. After checking in at the hotel, take the time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude (3,650 meters), ensuring a good and healthy start to your journey on the plateau.

Day 2: Lhasa City Sightseeing

Today, you'll have the opportunity to discover two unique monasteries in Lhasa: Drepung and Sera, each providing a fascinating glimpse into Tibetan Buddhism. Sera Monastery is particularly famous for its vibrant debates, which capture the spirit of Tibetan Buddhism. The monks utilize animated body language, participating in almost dance-like exchanges about Buddhist philosophy, showcasing their understanding with enthusiasm and vigor.

Day 3: Lhasa City Sightseeing

Let's start the tour to uncover the treasures of Lhasa, commencing with the magnificent Potala Palace, the former abode of the Dalai Lama and renowned as the world's highest palace. In addition to the Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street, the heart of Tibetan spirituality, these iconic landmarks have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Perched majestically atop the red hills in the center of Lhasa, the Potala Palace was once the pivotal hub of both the spiritual and political aspects of Tibet. As you ascend the 365 steps to the primary structure, you will delve into the former political chamber of the Dalai Lama, the revered prayer halls, and the majestic tomb stupa. Here, you will discover breathtaking murals and intricately crafted Buddha statues that epitomize the accumulated wealth and treasures of ancient Tibet.
The Jokhang Temple, sacred for housing the 12-year-old statue of Shakyamuni, is revered as the holiest site in Tibet and a lifelong spiritual odyssey for Tibetans. You're invited to accompany the devout pilgrims on a journey along Barkor Street and immerse yourself in the very essence of the city. Day 4: Lhasa – Yamdrotso Lake - Gyantse - Shigatse

Start today’s tour by driving approximately 7 to 8 hours (340 kilometers) to reach Shigatse. Along the route, you'll be treated to two awe-inspiring natural wonders: the serene Yamdrok Lake and the majestic Karola Glacier. A picturesque 20-kilometer drive will take you along the lake's shoreline, where you can absorb the breathtaking views.
We'll make a stop at a quaint lakeside village, where you'll have the opportunity to venture into the homes of local farmers, explore their traditional households, and savor a delicious homemade lunch amidst the rustic charm.
Following lunch, a short 1-hour drive will bring you to one of Tibet's most stunning glaciers – the Karola Glacier. Behold the massive glacier tongue, which extends to the roadside, resembling a frozen cascade suspended above the road and towering over your head.
As we continue our journey, we'll pass by the tranquil Lake Manla and the historic town of Gyantse, ultimately arriving in Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. This remarkable city awaits, filled with rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes, ready to be discovered.

Day 5:  Shigatse – Tingri – Everest Base Camp

After breakfast, we will start a 6.5-hour drive (330 kilometers) to the top of the world – Mount Everest. Along the way, you will visit several viewpoints where you can catch glimpses of Everest. The journey culminates with an overnight stay at Everest Base Camp (EBC).
Departing from Shigatse, you'll be accompanied by rural farmland and villages. Approximately 4 hours into the journey, you'll approach Dingri County, where you'll have your first view of Everest from the Dingri Viewpoint. Upon entering the Everest scenic area, you'll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan range from Gawula Pass. The 7000 to 8000-meter peaks of the Himalayas stand proudly above the sea of clouds, creating a majestic and awe-inspiring spectacle.
Next, you'll proceed on the dedicated road leading to Everest, with the mountain growing larger and closer until you reach the northern face base camp. From the base camp, Everest appears like a colossal pyramid standing before you. We will strive to arrive at Everest Base Camp before sunset, allowing you the opportunity to witness the magnificent natural phenomenon of the sunset casting golden hues upon the mountain.
(During the winter season, when the Everest Base Camp tented lodges are closed, we will relocate accommodations to the nearest village to Everest, Basong Village.)

Day 6: EBC-Dingri-Kyirong

Attractions & Activities: Peikutso Lake、Mt.Shishapangma、Kyirong Vally

In the morning, you can enjoy the sunrise over Mount Everest (if weather permitting) or take a stroll near the Everest Base Camp to savor the beautiful morning moments. After breakfast, the guide will take you to visit Rongbuk Monastery, the world's highest temple, known as the place submerged by waves in the movie "2012." It is also an excellent location for capturing the natural and cultural landscapes of Everest.
Leaving Everest behind, we will drive you to the border town of Gyirong in Tibet. Along the way, you'll have a close encounter with another Himalayan peak, Shishapangma, standing at over 8,000 meters, and the picturesque Peiku Tso Lake at its foothills. Crossing the 5,200-meter Kongtang La Pass, the altitude will gradually descend as the vehicle traverses through the canyons on the edge of the Himalayas until reaching the border town of Gyirong.

Day 7: Kyirong-Kathmandu

In the morning, the Tibetan guide will accompany you to the Gyirong Port. Under the majestic Chinese border gate, there will be a photo opportunity, and it will be time to bid farewell. Crossing the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge that spans the canyon, you will meet our Nepali staff who will welcome you at the border.
If you opt for our border-to-Kathmandu private car service(60 USD/person extra), we will assist with luggage handling (tips are appreciated), escort you to the vehicle, and ensure your seating arrangement until the private car drops you off near your pre-booked hotel in Kathmandu. Along the journey, you will continue to enjoy the snowy peaks and canyon scenery on the southern side of the Himalayas until you reach the Kathmandu Valley.

Tour Notice

1. Before applying for the Tibet Travel Permit, please ensure that your passport has a validity period of at least 6 months.
2. When entering Tibet from Kathmandu, China visa needs to be processed in Kathmandu. Please do not apply in your home country in advance. If tourists previously had a long-term valid Chinese visa, it will be replaced with a 30-day valid group tourist visa when applying in Kathmandu.
3. Only Chinese Yuan is accepted in Tibet. If you need Chinese Yuan, you can exchange it with US dollars locally or withdraw cash from ATMs.
4. Maintain good health before entering Tibet and avoid catching a cold.
5. When traveling on transportation to Tibet, both the airport and train station will check the Tibet Travel Permit. Please keep this official document safe and avoid writing or drawing on it.
6. Before traveling to Tibet, please confirm that you have received the Tibet Travel Permit and check and verify your personal information.
7. People with serious hypertension, heart disease, asthma, pregnant women, etc., are not recommended to travel to Tibet.
8. If worried about altitude sickness after entering Tibet, you can take a moderate amount of Rhodiola oral liquid or capsules before entering.
9. During the Tibet tour, you are required to travel with the group throughout the journey and cannot leave the group activities at will.
10. Pack vitamins and regular medications in your luggage.
11. When traveling at high altitudes, drink plenty of water, engage in slow-paced activities, and consume fruits and vitamin supplements.
12. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol when you are new to high altitudes.

Required Tips

While you traveling in Tibet, it is kindly required to tip the guide and driver if you are satisfied and appreciate their services. We recommend tipping $7 per day per person to be shared between the driver and guide.

Due to the inability to confirm the specific date for the reservation of Potala Palace tickets in advance, the preview order of the itinerary may undergo adjustments;
If you wish to extend your stay in Lhasa by one day, you can extend the 4-day itinerary to 5 days. Our guide will take you to experience more of the beauty of Lhasa, such as ascending to South Mountain Park to view the distant Potala Palace and panoramic views of Lhasa, experiencing Tibetan medicine baths, learning to make traditional handicrafts, visiting more temples, and learning to cook traditional Tibetan cuisine, and more. Application of Tibet Permits for Foreigners and Taiwanese

Foreigners (including overseas Chinese) need to provide information to the Tibet Tourism Bureau to apply for “ Tibet Travel Permission”. You need to provide documents according to our guidance.
1. If you are coming to China for tourism purpose with “L” Chinese tourist visa, you need to provide clear and complete passport page images and Chinese visa images.
2. If you are working, studying, residing in China, or visiting China for business, in addition to your passport and visa images, you also need to provide certificate from your Chinese company or school.
3. If you plan to enter Tibet directly from Nepal, you need to personally visit the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu to apply for a Chinese visa(Single Entry 30 days). Please go to our local office in Kathmandu at least 3 working days in advance, We will arrange all the procedures for your Chinese visa application. If you previously have a Chinese visa, your existing visa will be revoked upon obtaining the new visa. In addition to the visa fee charged by the embassy, you are required to pay an additional $20 service fee for visa processing.
The entire procedure is fully serviced, you just simply provide the documents to our travel agency. The deadline for submitting the application is 10 working days before the tour departure. If want to go to Mt.Kailash, you need to send the documents to us 15-20 working days in advance.
Once all approval procedures are completed, we will send the Tibet Travel Permission to your designated address via email or mail (within China only). When boarding the train/flight, the staff at the port will check your Tibet Travel Permission, please ensure its proper safekeeping
